OMG, I am a HUUUGE TOS fan. More of a Kirk girl, though. ;-)
TOS is incredibly slashy once you see the rest of the episodes, though there are plenty of gen stories out there. The third season is notoriously BAD in general, but there are a couple gems in there. Also, if V made you squee, then II will be the same.
I'll have to come back with recs because it's been so long since I was obsessed with it that I don't have any stories saved.
yay tos! :) hehe it's funny that we have one each for team spock, kirk and mccoy in this thread.
is season 3 so bad it's worth avoiding altogether? i was planning to get all 3 seasons but if 3 is terrible (i read a quote somewhere which said leonard nimoy cringed his way through most of the filming for season 3) maybe i should just pretend it doesn't exist.
Well, I have some archives you can wade through, the individual stories are harder to find as most of the ones I have are Kirk-centric (though, of course, the friendship between Kirk and Spock is the main angle).
Trekiverse - This has fic from ALL of the Trek incarnations, though TOS has its own page. It is neatly organized into several categories.
Or maybe Lost and Found. Good friendship story, though with my preferred bias. :) Neither one is slash.
Also, these stories are from fanzines: Tantalus Haven't read too many of these.
Hm... a lot of these are slash! I know a lot of gen stuff is out there, though.
As for Season 3, well.... like I said, there are a few gems (The Enterprise Incident, Spectre of the Gun, The Tholian Web, The Empath), that I wouldn't miss... Some of them I wouldn't watch again if I were paid, or in a very strange mood (Spock's Brain - good lord!, Plato's Stepchildren - uuuuuggggh).
nah, it's ok, i've read a whole bunch of spoilers already :) plus i've seen V, so i figure whatever happens can't be that bad since he's toasting marshmallows in V. although i may well still cry, since i cry for EVERYTHING
I'm a major Trek fan - there's something I love about most of the shows. Can't really offer any recs for the original since it's been so long I read anything, but if time allows I'd love to go back and re-search for some interesting stories. Yay for TOS!Spock love!
Silly SS. I've been a Trek devotee since I was about 10 years old. I adore James Tiberius Kirk and always loved Spock and Bones, as well. And I even crushed on Chekov for a while - he's a cutie and gets more air time as the seasons progress. And Scottie is the man! He keeps them moving.
Seriously, all the snark in all directions is great. And I have never thought of the men's male bonds as slashy, but I guess that wasn't ever really part of my generation's consciousness. They're dear friends and comrades in arms. I love their bonds. I cried at the end of WoK (II).
