signs that my life is now beholden to star trek and its fandom for the known future (or the summer at the very least):

- staying up all night reading fic/rewatching movie/making icons/searching for pictures. when i say all night i do indeed mean that i see the sun rise and then have to go to work. yeah i dont even KNOW.

Isn't Karl awesome. I keep making picspams of him and can't stop. It's weird that I love the whole cast and not just one actor. I'm not sure this has ever happened before.

right? i have major adoration for them ALL.

also, my unabiding love for kirk is very strange. when the cast is large i generally am indifferent to the main protagonist. not so in this case!!! i love him lots!

You know, I thought nothing of Chris Pine when he was in Princess Diaries, but now I sort of love him. And he looks like a Ken doll, but I still love him.

I cried in the first ten minutes the first time I saw it, not gonna lie.

dude. i did not even know that was chris pine in PD. holy shit im oblivious. he was just you know *handwave* another pretty boy. but NOW. now, i really do love him. (KOBAYASHI MARU!!!!!!!!!)

omg me too. its so SAD. i dragged my friend to the movie and as that scene was ending she turns to whisper to me, THIS IS SAD! this is REALLY sad! i didnt think it would be sad, why are you making me watch this?? and im all HUSH THIS IS IMPORTANT!!

I've never commented on your journal before, but I'm totally with you on the Star Trek loving.

trying to find ways to bring up star trek at work without looking like one of THOSE PEOPLE (hasn't really worked sadly).

WORD. It's so annoying when you have to force back you glee whilst simultaneously trying to get people to watch the movie. I can't do it at all. I start discussing how good it is quite calmly, but then I basically fall into fangirl flailing and shouts of, "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, YOU'RE NOT SANE!"

And while I'm all about Spock and Uhura (because she's like the GODDESS OF LANGUAGES!), I get that raging need for fanfic and movie watching at all hours of the day too. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH.

i do the exact same thing! i just cant NOT get all crazed about it. le sigh.

i love me some spock and uhura. its rare that i LIKE an actual canon pairing, so thats fun. but i have to admit that my major interest right now is mccoy/kirk :D

It's so hard not to. And this is a difficulty for me considering that few people on my f-list have seen it. I basically have all this pent up Star Trek fangirling squee that just erupts at the vaguest mention of the movie.

its rare that i LIKE an actual canon pairing, so thats fun.

Yeah, I was surprised that I ended up loving them so much. I was sure they were going to end up pairing her with Kirk and that I'd be forever looking for Spock/Uhura fic online.

affectingly also has some great stuff, and she's hosting the McCoy-a-thon. acutally my mccoy/kirk kink is all her fault! :D

My only problem with the ST fandom is that there's not new porn popping up on my f'list, like, every other second. >:(

*nods solemnly* that is EXACTLY my problem too cathy! there has to be porn minions, right?

and personally i think it should alternate every second, you know? mccoy porn, chekov porn, mccoy porn, chekov porn etc...other crewmembers can be thrown in every 5 seconds. the minions are of course encouraged to surprise us with mccoy/chekov porn at their leisure.

there is a mathmatical formula for this, im sure.

ack i went and made my chekov icon and STILL havent uploaded it. must fix it!
