I noticed last night that it’s only the 6th day of 2009 and I am already nearly done reading(1) my third book of the year. Reading lots of books is something that could or should have been one of my “resolutions” and by complete accident I am happily reading away. Nice.

I have started a page (CLICK) to keep track of the books I’ll read over the ( Read more... )

I'm the same way about audiobooks. Thank you, local library, for feeding my addiction.

I have this thing about listening to an audiobook for a book I haven't already read to old-fashioned way. It's like I'm afraid I'm going to miss something important because I'm interrupted or something. Also I tend to listen to something on earphones only when I'm alone (I feel like I'm being rude) or at the gym (and I can't work out to an audiobook)and I'm rarely alone (unfortunately) so I tend to not listen to them at all. *looks back at comment so far* Hmmm, looks like I have some sort of audiobook hangup or something. Weird.

I usually do alright with not getting interrupted, but if I do I just rewind back some. I don't really have a problem with losing track of what's going on either, but sometimes I"ll repeat a chapter or track just to be clear lol.

I should check one out of the library and give it another go. It would be nice to do while knitting, but hubby can get offended if I'm "ignoring" him while in the same room... although recently he's been donning earphones while at the computer in the same room, so what the hell... I'm in!

Oh, how was "The Graveyard Book"? It's on my to-be-read pile.

It's freakin' awesome. Neil Gaiman himself was reading it which made it all the more amazing, of course. I love his use of language and simplicity.

I'll have to move it up the pile. Or get the audiobook!

I've been keeping track of books I've read for several years now and it really makes me feel like I've accomplished something when I can look back and see the totals.
