I like flowers...!
... I was revisiting chthonian.net today, since I finally decided to keep a copy of the entire Tsumi translation in case the site were to ever meet a catastrophe. Well, of course, I decided to look at the characters section again... bwahahahahahaha~! I can't believe I don't remember this part!:
(For what it's worth, Kaneko Kazuma doesn't buy the Tatsuya x Maya pairing either, although Satomi Tadashi seems to like it; Kaneko says that two airheaded, spontaneous people like Tatsuya and Maya wouldn't work well together. Kaneko seems to strongly support Tatsuya x Jun, and even got Satomi to admit it. XD)

... But... in Batsu, I really didn't like how they did push for Maya x Tatsuya. I personally thought that Katsuya was a better fit for Maya. He's so cuuuuuuuuuute~(heck, if nobody else in the game seems to want him, I'll take him)! Plus, the whole Mother/Son relationship she and Tatsuya seemed to have... no. It never struck me as a believeable romance when I was playing the game.
However, even in the American version, there was a heck of a lot of implications between Jun and Tatsuya. I was glad to see that they actually did a very good translation job overall (compared to the first Persona), even if some of the phrases/small portions of the game either didn't make sense due to cultural references or the like.
I was also researching on the internet to figure out where the heck Jun got off thinking that Iris meant "revenge." From what I can tell, most people attribute such meanings as "I can't live without you," "friendship," "hope," and "message (whatever that means)"... which makes things very interesting if you were to take those meanings instead. IF they wanted to go for the revenge aspect, maybe Birdsfoot Trefoil would have been a better choice. I really wish the creators could have said what kind of variant of flower language they used... (> o >);. Some of the other flowers seem to be consistent with their universal meanings, such as Sweetpea (departure) or Yarrow (preparing for battle). Then again, it'd be really amusing if the creators just decided to do a quick search on an online search engine and picked random flower meanings from anonymous Japanese websites (... kind of like I'm doing). That might explain a few things...
