As a kid, I wasn't allowed to have rodenty pets (my cat probably would've made mousemeat out of them). Funny thing is....a few of my friends have bought them recently (including a hamster with these decorative "wings" or furry sashes. Sooo cute).

my mom just wasn't into pets - especially rodenty ones. when i was a teenager, she relented and we had a great dog (who, ironically, was observed to look like an overgrown rat by more than one person). so, i'm digging the gerbils. they are ever so cute!
