OMFG!  I saw an icon of someone's child dressed in a fuzzy bedtime onesie resembling the pajamas from Where the Wild Things Are.  I am totally making baby something like this.  Sooo cute!

I want to write a childrens book about a child who makes friend with a drew drop, but when the sun comes out it disappears.  A few days later on a cool morning it is back.  Repeat.  Something about impermanence being okay.

The biggest problem effecting the youth in my community is a lack of responsibility, to both the singular self and the community at large.  There is a general confusion prevalent among the members of my generation when it comes to wants, needs, and place in society.   I believe that a supportive family unit and a solid community structure could ( Read more... )

So I've come to realize that I need to know what standard procedures are when caring for a newborn in a hospital.  Tomorrow I'm going to call Gretchen, since I forgot to last week, and maybe she can point me in the right direction.  I know I need to research vitamin K shots and eye drops, but I'm not sure what else is routine.

A Program for Parents-to-Be: HEIR (Hospital Education, Information and Resources)

The class meets the third Thursday of each month (June 17th or July 15th.)  The class is free, and no registration is necessary.
    * Class I: 6:30 - 7:30 pm
    * Class II: 7:45 - 8:45 pm

Childbirth is a normal, healthy event.

My body is my friend.

I trust my body and my baby.

I am able to birth in harmony with nature, in the best possible way for myself and my baby.

My baby and I are working harmoniously together.  We are grateful for this powerful experience.
