Random Things (That's what LJ's for after all).

This is definitely going to be one of those entries where I ramble on with all the stuff I just can't get out of my head. Let's call this my personal pensieve where I can unload everything without worrying about the flow of the conversation. Pipe up if you do have a thought though!

First of all Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Without all my friends, family, new lovely people I've met over the past year and those I talk to frequently yet haven't had the pleasure to meet, I'd be a totally different and probably miserable person. Every person in my life matters greatly to me and I certainly don't vocalize my love for them enough. I've never been that kind of person (unless I'm into my cups and get all loving drunk). The written word has always like me better anyway.

Update on my LJ learning progress... Pretty good. I still don't post to major communities though I'm going to try my hand at a major picspam in the coming weeks to one community I adore, hughbunnies since I'm going to have  a lot of my own photos of the handsome Hugh Laurie. I'll post them here along with favored boytoy Jesse Spencer. I'll be seeing their band on December 4th thanks especially to my dear Mum. Funnily, she's giving me them for Christmas. I'm a nerd, I know. I'm just glad I'll be able to use my camera again. It's been two months!

HOUSE: OMFG HOW GOOD IS THIS SEASON?! I'm a pretty easy fangirl to please, but hot damn! Hugh Laurie is at the top of his game; Lisa is killing it every time she walks on screen the supporting cast are better than ever (Foreman is actually not boring anymore!), the patients have been good (though a little kicked to the side). With all these beautiful people, I still watch primarily for the lines. It's always words, words, words, with me but it takes great actors such as these to deliver them with such finesse. That is what I fell in love with first after all.

Speaking of dialog-centered shows, Dark Shadows, the film not the original show, is going to start filming in April in London! Please, Mr. Depp, don't make it into another useless and totally over-sapped Vampire film. "Dark Shadows" was the first to use the reluctant vampire tale. Barnabas Collins will always be the prototype for the Lestat's, Edwards, and whoever's of the vampire genre. People can say otherwise all they want, but it's FACT if you look at the dates. I find it very disheartening people think Rice created the lonely, tortured vampire. She didn't. She took the vehicle and ran it in her direction. Don't get me wrong, I love "The Vampire Chronicles" all the way to their disappointing end. I have mostly every book; didn't bother with the last. Depp needs to bring Dark Shadows out of this vampire craze and straight into the true romantic Gothic horror genre. I'm praying they use the 1967 storyline first because that one will show a fierce, half insane vampire praying on his own descendent's and the townspeople, ultimately kidnapping a girl and imprisoning her in his home until she escapes. It needs to be as dark as the show was. I have a feeling they're going to do the "1795" storyline where Barnabas becomes the vampire. I could digg that, too. It's all how they execute it. So, Mr. Depp, Mr. Burton, don't fuck up. Please.

Harry Potter and te Deathly Hallows: GO SEE IT. Yes, I've heard people complain it was a little slow... Whatever, it'll make sense at the end. Waiting 8 months for the next film is going to drive me even more insane. I'm already emotionally preparing myself for all the deaths that are coming. I'm going to bawl when I see Snape's death scene. How could I not? I still can't read that in the book with a straight face.

Doctor Who: Missing this show with every fiber of my being! I've kept up with the spoilers and promos, especially those of the Christmas special, and I can't wait! Michael Gambon might actually fit perfectly for his part [I'm bitter at his portrayal of Dumbledore].

In other film news, I'll finally get to see "the King's Speech" on Sunday. From what I keep hearing, Firth is almost guaranteed the Oscar for this. I hope he does get it. I can't think of any other actor who has gotten so much praise this year.

Vale for now, folks.
