Computer speakers

I need new computer speakers. After they've been on for a while, it becomes hard to hear the vocal part of a song, then the music starts to fade and sound tinny. I turn the speakers off for a few seconds and turn them back on, and it sounds fine again. They were $35 and are about 9 years old, so they don't owe me anything. I'm tempted to get a

The problem with a 5.1 setup is the wires running everywhere - and of course mounting the speakers at a consistent level for each range.
