The elementary schools back home have these little plywood cutouts of small children that they place in the middle of streets near school crossings during school hours. They're right on the yellow line, so you shouldn't hit them, but they're meant to remind you that children are around. Or possibly fool you into thinking they are a child and you should slow down for them?

I'm so glad you had a lot of fun! I'm sure we didn't actually *have* to throw you a party, but we had a good time doing it, so it was totally worth it. I completely forgot, however, that I meant to open up the Dark Lord that we've set aside! Figured it would be topical at a Halloween party, after all. Que sera sera, eh? Anyway, it was SO good to see you; thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to think about your availability for New Years Eve, kay?

And Jacquilynne, that is just a dirty trick; I think I might have a heart attack if I, say, looked up from adjusting the radio and saw a kid at the yellow line. I bet it works like a charm.
