I know it wouldn't really apply to you too much, but having a touch-sensitive screen would be detrimental if you're ever in a below-freezing environment.

Otherwise, I suggest you also consider Fuji Finepix F50 or F100.
I have the F30, and it has far and away best high ISO performance in class [http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fujifilmf30].

I did look at the f100 but it's a compact, not an ultra-compact. How precise are those categories...?

Don't look at the category, it's completely arbitrary. Look at the size/weight.
