Happy Birthday, Mr. Flying Fingers! Edited!

Sep 28, 2009 16:49

I meant to do this earlier today, even though tomorrow's Rob's big day (and also a Tuesday, go figure), to give everyone a chance in all time zones to jump in an participate.

For the next few days, I would like you to consider this post your "Getting Serious about Fluff" forum (or writing in general).

In honor of mrflyingfingers's birthday, the topic I would ( Read more... )

Perhaps it would help if we directed things a bit to get started? Asked everyone to participate in a specific topic right now, then when things get rolling, just let it fly?

What if, to start, we asked people to post a snippet of their own work which illustrates a DECLARATION of a man's love or intent? Original or Fan Fic. The length of your choosing. Give us a little set-up if you think it's necessary to understand the scene in isolation.

Then we can discuss.

What do you think?

I guess I sort-of thought that's how it worked in general, perhaps I am remembering wrong. I didn't have a specific scene written, though. If you do, post away!

I'll try and get to something, Gabby, but I'm at work today and it might not be until tonite. :) But I should come up with something AND I pimped it on my LJ, too!

Thanks for organizing this!

I'll see what I can come up with before class. It's been forever since I've written anything of note.

*Is trying to find a way for Sirius to survive OotP, because naturally he will later be able to declare his love ....* Sigh.

I am updating and editing my two James/Lily stories, so will try and post the (very) slightly tweaked ending to Quidditch Practice later, as my contribution to the Birthday Boy.

Happy Birthday, mrflyingfingers!

Hmm...I had Irene fish him out accidentally during an experiment with a potted palm and retrieving living objects that had fallen into the veil.

If you could only have somebody on scene cast a sheild charm when he fell...that might work too.

Um, hello? Manly or no that was .... yummy. and sweet. and very Sirius, no?

Fave part:

She shook her head. “I’ve done the stupidest thing I could possibly do and now I’m neck deep in this bloody war.”

Sirius smiled. He knew she didn’t mean battling Bellatrix. “Irene, look at me.”

She whipped her head around, her arms still crossed. Her expression was both defiant and vulnerable.

“Irene, I love you too,” he said.

Was it because he said I love you? Nope. It was because he was smiling and happy and was glad to say it first. So brave. So Gryffindor. So Sirius.

Yes, my Gryffindor men tend to do that to my Ravenclaw women.

Of course, immediately following this scene is when Irene decides to withhold sex until the end of the war in an effort to force Sirius to survive. So Ravenclaws have their revenge (of sorts)!

LOL! Crafty girl!!!!

It's a great scene, Gabby. :)

Mine is turning out to be depressing as all get out so I might not turn it in. We'll see what I can come up with before bedtime. :P Mebee a small drabble of sorts.

It doesn't have to be long. Remember the Fluff thread had that nasty 500 word limit (which is why we created this community to begin with, I believe)? I suppose it has it's merits. Nobody's looking for your next great novel.
