Rejoice, for I'm done with 31_days_exchnge. Here's the final three, here's the master list.
Brothers, prompt: 14. even if i die, i'll still come back to haunt you
Once upon a time, Keroberus had a brother... but his brother was not as strong as he. After suffering the loss of his true love, he'd returned to the Clow and fallen asleep.
For a while, Keroberus hoped Yue had retreated from reality for awhile, like when Clow had died. But as the years rolled by and there was no sign of Yue's return, Keroberus realized that for all intents and purposes, Yue was dead. A magical being such as they couldn't be killed in a conventional sense, so lack of awareness was as close as they could get.
There might have been some way he could have awoken Yue, some magic spell to force Yue from his grief, but Keroberus wasn't cruel enough to suggest that to his current Master (the son of Sakura and Syaoran, a boy whose kindness rivaled the former Cardmistress' own). So Keroberus promised to serve his master twice as hard, filling in for Yue's absence.
Kerobeus soldiered on, because that was his task. He faced every day without fear. But during those rare nights he felt abandoned, he would feel the shadowy touch of Yue's hand against his brow, stroking his golden fur reassuringly.
Shadow of Memory, prompt: 15. you could be my love, you could be my blue
Kyouko's eyes follow Ren wherever he goes.
She knows he's an amazingly attractive man, and that all the women want him, but for Kyouko it's different. He gives her such a sense of familiarity that she struggles to remember where they've met before. He's her treasured senpai, but her memory nags at her, trying to point out why else he's important.
Kyouko refuses to think on it consciously because right now she has her future in front of her, and no time to dwell upon the past. She is determined to make Shoutarou cry and rejects the idea that someone else might be important. She loves acting, but that's the only love she can afford to indulge.
She reminds herself of this constantly, no matter how comfortable she feels around Ren. Kyouko had her eyes firmly on her goal, and will not allow anything to divert her.
Besides, she would feel silly asking Ren about it. Surely he would have said something, if they'd met before. Ren, while occasionally mysterious, is very honest. Maybe he just feels familiar because she wants him to.
But sometimes Ren offers her his golden smile, and the ghost of memory threatens to overwhelm her.
Exactly What He Deserves, prompt: 27. looking forward to death
The One Ring wasn't destroyed, not like everyone believed. Evil such as the One Ring couldn't be destroyed, not even by the powerful lava of Mount Doom. Once it existed, it could not be unmade. So while it may lack form, the evil and power it contained swirl amid the molten liquid of the volcano located in the heart of Mordor.
The immortality the Ring granted worked in a similar fashion. In the end, Gollum earned exactly what he wanted: possession of the One Ring for the rest of eternity.
Gollum burns, and burns, and burns, but does not die.
