Happy New Year to everybody!
Below are the drabbles that I've contributed to
kallysten's
2005 drabbles by 2005 thing. By the way, if anyone still wants to contribute, it's still open - I think there's about 1500 still to go at this point.
Anyway, the drabbles...
Warnings: Death/grief (for the fourth, fifth and seventh)
Spike, Post NFA, G. I'm not too sure about this one.
What was he meant to do now? LA was finished, and he had a “god-king” to look after.
It was quite funny, really. The entire world was open to him, but there were only two possible destinations: Rome, or Not-Rome. All right, so Not-Rome wasn’t really a place, and his drama was almost as bad as his poetry, but it was true.
It showed him that he hadn’t moved on. Not that he thought he had.
Who was he kidding? All roads led to Rome, anyway.
He had a feeling, though, that if Buffy moved, the roads would follow her.
Faith Meets Puppet!Angel in an alternate Season 5, PG. This was mildly amusing for me...
Wesley had had no choice. Angel wasn’t getting any ‘better’, and, as good as he was with a shotgun, they needed someone with superhuman strength.
He wished he’d met her on arrival though…
“Right. Where’s the boss man?” The receptionist blinked.
“Faith.” She turned around, looking around for a voice. Then she saw the puppet.
“OK. I knew the whole curse-thing was gonna make Angel play with himself more than normal people, but this has gotta be going too far.”
“Faith.”
“It talks?! You guys seriously need to take him to a shrink.”
“Faith!”
“Still. A puppet. Could be interesting.”
Andrew Gets A Life (Sort Of), Post Chosen, G. I wasn't sure this entirely met the challenge (ie. there's too much in the "sort of")
Dawn had taken him to the cinema. She did that quite a lot. At first he’d thought they were boyfriend and girlfriend (he wasn’t quite sure how that worked), but now he realised that they were just friends. Maybe closer, with what they’d been through: like, siblings, or something.
Did that make them Luke and Princess Leia? Was he Luke?!
No. He wasn’t supposed to be thinking about that. He was supposed to be enjoying the war movie. It wasn’t too bad. There weren’t any lightsabers, but rifles were OK.
He wasn’t used to the cinema being so full, though.
Spike and Giles at Buffy's Grave, G/PG. I think this one's all right, though nothing special - possibly a bit cliché.
“Spike.”
Spike looked up, hastily brushing a hand across his face before turning around.
“What are you doin’ here, Watcher?” Giles said nothing. He didn’t need to. He had more right to be there than Spike ever would. Spike sighed. “It’s been a month, you know. Four bleedin’ weeks.” He laughed. “’s like there’s a, a calendar, or something, in my head, reeling off anniversaries: a week, ten days…”
“Spike, stop it.”
“…fifteen, twenty, a month.” His hand shook as he brushed his face again. “’s always there. Ticking away like some infernal clock.”
“I know,” Giles said. “I know.”
Something Depressing, ie. Buffy Post NFA, PG. I'm not sure if this hits the right note, but to me it seems reasonably inoffensive.
She’d lived here once, when she was innocent. She’d doubted she would ever be the same, after becoming the Slayer, and now the city had followed suit, having been irrevocably altered by one of Angel’s follies.
She’d heard about the apocalypse. She’d known Angel was the cause, but had had no clue what his intentions were, and so had come.
The moment she’d set foot on the ground, she’d felt him. Ignoring the rubble and the corpses, she’d searched.
She knew it was him, though she couldn’t believe it. Dust on the ground, streaking away with a burst of wind.
Buffy POV during TGIQ, PG. Another one I'm not too sure about.
OK, I’m dancing. I’m feeling the rhythm. I’m ignoring the “Vampire!” warning going off in my sinuses…do I mean sinuses? …what are sinuses? If only I watched more ER…
It doesn’t matter. I am ignoring the vampire and concentrating on the music. It’s one of my nights off. There are at least three other Slayers in here whose night it is, so I’m not gonna do anything. Just dance.
Who am I kidding? Where’s the vampire?
…
That better not be who I think it is.
I should’ve guessed he was gonna turn up. Who’s that with him?
Oh. Holy. Crap.
The BuffyBot's Last Moments, G. I'm not sure how accurate this is in programming terms, but it was the most fun to write, and so probably my favourite (though not when I had to count the words manually).

I've had so little time on the computer recently...and am subsequently really behind with my flist...something I intend to remedy in the New Year (hopefully...it's probably just the holidays though).
Anyway, Happy New Year, again.
Quinara.
