I was a little weirded out when STARLITECAREERS.com contacted me about a friend needing my job reference.  A few clicks in the google fu, and oh my god

yeah i have come acrossed that site also..
didn't understand it then...
still don't...

sad really for those who need a job and are desperae to fill out anything to get a possible job

what they do is get you to legally give up other's email, and thusly the people feel guilty if they don't visit the site to give you a reference. see? guilt is an awful marketing tool.
