I am working on Cyriac's new coat, hoping to get it done by Christmas, but not holding my breath on that one. Estrella is the main goal. He wants this very elaborate emboidery on the back. It is a heavy wool flannel, and doesn't seem to me like a very good base for a lot of detail. So should I stitch it onto linen and thn "applique" it on? Should I

why don't you embroider the design onto some lovely felt, incorporating that color into your design and tehn applique the felt to the wool, maybe adding a few details after it's on?
