if I could make a recommendation, I would say it's not entirely necessary to stay on mackinac island. It's too expensive, too crowded, and after a day, you've done everything and spent all your money.

You might be just as well to find a fairly nice (and cheaper) place in st. ignace or mackinac city and then take the ferry (which I think is $14/person) for just one day. St. Ignace seemed nicer, but I think the toll for the bridge is something like $5. The beaches on the mainland are probably wayyyy better than anything you'll find on that island, which has no beaches but just very sharp pebbles along the shoreline.

I can't believe you've never seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

I talked to Melissa and she told me that the lighthouse in Caro is always hiring and I think you would be really good at that type of work. You should look into it. Also Raechelle's mom does the hiring so you have an 'in' there. Just thought I would let you know.
