I think just about everybody I know, including myself, is in the same boat with their Sims stories. I haven't quit playing and writing aspirationally, for I will always adore the game and community and stories that I've read over these many years, but reality is a different thing. Epiphany: tt isn't the all-consuming thing it used to be for me.
Anyway, I'm happy to see your post, and maybe I'll get around to posting something again one of these days/months/(I hope it's not years). I'm kinda glad I never migrated to Tumblr beyond occasional scrolls through my Sims buddies' posts, especially going by how many people like you have gotten burned.

Hi! I'm kind of stunned and delighted to find anyone still checking in on LJ. I miss the days when this was the go-to format for sim stories - so much easier for me to engage with like this than basically backward and scattered like on tumblr. But that's where the people were.
Yeah, with basically half a lifetime simming for me, can't really fight the ebbs and flows, though I do wish this particular ebb hadn't happened in the middle of my most ambitious project to date! I didn't initially conceive it as such, but I've realised it's kind of a love letter to the game itself and I think that's what keeps me coming back to it (ever so slowly.)
Yours was definitely one of the most successful BACCs I've seen. Whatever/whenever you post next, I'll be happy to see it. And thanks so much for commenting!
(Oh, and I actually wasn't going to check back with DW for a few days but got the same 'are you human' thing and now it's working for me. No more error 403.)
