I'm living in village and i'm supposed to move in on sunday. now is it possiblt to move in on saturday because i want a chance to unpack and settle in before classes start.
While you're welcome to call res-life and give it a shot, my original inclination from past experience would be no. They'll tell you that the way to settle into your room before the semester is to join move-in crew and come in this week.
Security spends a lot of time arranging traffic etc on move-in days, which is why Village is scheduled for sunday and they'd rather not stray from that...
I would have to say most likely not. Unless its some sort of crazy reason, they most likely will say no. But you can always try and see...or make up a crazy story!
try just showing up around 5 or 6 and go to security and say "hi i'm so and so and I talked to a guy last week who said that I could move in now" and just play it off that way. That's what I did when I moved out of the village the Saturday after finals when the campus was closed. If you make it seem like a miscommunication on their part, they're much more lenient. Yeah i actually work in the same building as the head of security and he's got this whole thing planned out to a T. if you mess it up, be prepared for repercussions, he's not fun to deal with when he's angry. plus there's a lot of extra crap going on as far as move-in this year so as much as i'm sure you would love to move in early, unless you want your ass handed to you, take it from me, Ron isn't as nice as he usually is when you tick him off.
Yeah sorry, He's normally a really great guy but move-in is the most stressful part of the year for these guys and they literally start planning it as soon as the kids move out in May. Try for move-in crew in the future, they get to move in on Wednesday before everyone else.
