There seemed to be quite a few people in London on Friday who didn't know about the bus strike. Then again, on my walks to and from work, I did see the occasional bus. But the one I got closest to had all its lights off and was empty. Dashing to an area of especially high demand? Probably not driving around to remind people what they were missing ( Read more... )

I have to admit that I did in fact spend ten minutes waiting at a bus stop in vain on Friday evening...

In my defence, I hardly ever use buses in London, but a tree was down on the Herford North line so no trains were running to Enfield. I duly defaulted to a Piccadilly line run up to Oakwood, having forgotten about the bus strike. Luckily, I have a very nice husband who didn't mind schlepping out to pick me up in the car.

While I'm almost certain that I've read Antigone (a long time ago, mind you) reading the synopsis on Wikipedia rang exactly no bells. Hey ho.
I'm never quite sure how I think about modern dress for period plays. Good to hear that this one mostly worked.

It was very nice to see you and Donna at the weekend :)
