[ Cordelia groans. ] Ugh! You’ve got to be kidding. I thought this was all over! Are we seriously revisiting this again? The claw marks, the boils, the burns. But wings? Are we going to be attacked by some wild demonic bird now
( Read more... )
[ Off-handedly: ] This Malnosso honestly sounds like Wolfram and Hart, minus the designer shoes.
[ Well, if they are the big honchos here, then obviously they must be taken out. And since in weird alternate dimensions like this - and Pylea - there are demons who run the show, her mind automatically settles on that. The Malnosso being big, ugly demons. ] Are they a big bunch of demons?
You'd take them out? [ She's a bit surprised that that. The only people she knows who are capable of doing something like that are Angel and Buffy - and the rest of the gang, but they're nowhere to be found at the moment. So, it has her curious. ]
If only it were that simple. You're not hurt or anything, are you? [She has suspicions of who this could possibly be, based on certain conversations with a certain vampire. But even on an entirely different level, Shiki's concerned.]
At least you don't have the high expectations. [She knows, Cordelia. She knows. It's okay.]
That's a plus. Usually they're nice but sometimes...yeah. Take your time with the rest though. It's not exactly easy to take in what with the wings and the whole "trapped in this world" thing.
[ ;o; ] I wouldn't know about that. But where I come from, expecting the worst can be one of the smartest things you can do. [ And one of the dumbest, but, that is not important right now. ]
The trapped-in-this-world thing I can deal with. Kind of done it before. [ And was made ruler! It'd be a bonus if she became ruler of Luceti, but, that's probably a once in a lifetime thing. ] But the wings are new. Does that ever become normal?
I'm so astonished by how well you manage to keep calm. In fact, I think everyone should strive to be like you. [Draco's seen a few too many New Feather cycles in his time here.]
[He had meant for that to be far more sarcastic, but in general Cordelia actually was being more calm than others, thus changing his mind. None of this panicky "WHERE AM I" "WHAT IS THIS PLACE" "HOW DOES THIS WORK" business. Granted the questions were there, but the fact she's not screaming is enough for approval...for now.]
If there were such a thing as currency? Probably not. Poster girl might be a bit of a stretch, but at least you seem more reasonable.
Care to elaborate on how this can possibly be kind of normal for you? [That's what's got him curious, after all.]
[ She will just gladly take the title of Poster Girl for Arrivals thank you very much. ]
You know those things that go bump in the night? Hide under your bed and in your closets? Kind of my life. Think Nancy Drew but with a supernatural twist. [ And she is not the protagonist, but details. Assuming Draco knows any of this. Cordelia's going to have to keep in mind that people are literally from different worlds. ]
Been thrown into another dimension before. That isn't exactly something anyone would classify as normal, right?

Physically? No. All limbs intact. [ Plus wings. ] Not quite sure on the other fronts, though. I'll get back to you on that one?

But I'm happy to be the poster girl for new arrivals. Think it'll give me a paying job here?
