working on my personal development

I am not cut out for Being Supportive. I have an entitlement complex. I have an abandonment complex. I just like making things complex. Ergo, when one of my best friends rings me to say, "I'm going to Thailand", my reaction is not one of excitement, pride and wonderment. Instead, I said to him, "But you can't! You're speaking at my 21st!"

I'd personally go somewhere non-Asiatic, seeing as I have zero (0) cultural links there. Or somewhere I speak the language, at the very least.

I think there's something about Japan that's not quite spiritually cliched enough for my bud.

He surely can wait like a month for your 21st can't he? It just means more money for him. I can totally understand your grudginess a little :) Its not like its this huge thing he has been building up to.. its a whim. Didn't James (his flatmate) go to thailand?

Also he will be here till at least April 21st anyway if he is going to rhcp so its like two more weeks! if he does stay for rhcp, he will be going in the unbearably hot season so you can laugh at him a little for that :P it will be cheaper accomodation though.

...how do you know all this?! When the hell did you sneak off to Thailand?

Well, I'm going to move my 21st to the weekend straight after my birthday in the hopes that he can make it. It's still not 100% certain, but he says he'll definitely be gone by the first week of May so hopefully I can convince him to stay that extra week after the Chillies.

Get him to record his speech and play it over the PA, or write it down to be read out. I understand your reaction though, doesn't make you unsupportive, just selfish, for a good reason, this 21st is about having your friends near :)

It's my party, and I'll prevent him from journeys of self-discovery if I want to ;)

Dear May,

Upon consultation with the relevant authorities, we have determined that your sentence:
"I will, for instance, go watch every single one of Catherine's plays, even the ones where the majority of her lines involve bleating."
be declared "Sentence of the Year".

We hope you will receive this award at the all-star gala to be held in August.

Sincerely,

The Lexicon Foundation for Awesomeness in Anglais

Sydney is guten!

I have put down a deposit on a place near the city for walk-tasticness. I even went to Melbourne yesterday for work! On my second day! It is ALL ON.

Plus I went to the Mardi Gras on Saturday (the gay kind) and have never seen so many homos in my whole life. It was ace!

Indeed, I myself often judge the quality of a day by how many homos I can stuff into it. Observe: no gays is no good, three to five is average to good, and twenty thousand is a gold star day.

Glad to hear of the guten :)
