So I just finished re-reading the Song of Ice and Fire series. God, I love that series. It's amazing how much I forgot, even though I had just read it a year ago. I'd forgotten that King Joffrey died, I'd forgotten that Tyrion killed his father, and I'd forgotten that Littlefinger killed his wife Lysa. But that's neither here nor there

George himself might have no idea where Amazon got the date, but I imagine someone at Amazon talked to someone at Spectra Publishing. I find it hard to believe that Amazon totally pulled this date out of their ass, just to increase the number of pre-orders.

I am ashamed to admit.

I read book 1, and enjoyed it, but had a hard time following who was who and what was what. I'd just gone on Xanax at that time so my concentration was shot. Then I started the second a few months later and... never finished it. I started work, and I'd read when I got home but I'd leave the book for weeks at a time, and by the time I picked it back up I'd forget where I left off.

Maybe I'll start over. I *did* enjoy it. I just didn't follow it well.

The latest I've heard is that the damned thing will be out in February. February 2004!

I'm not pleased, not pleased at all. Rasa, it's worth persevering although it is hard to follow with all the characters. At least it's worth following, unlike some other bigarse books.
