I REALLY like that I feel like a Vancouverite when I read the 'you know you're from vancouver when' list on Adriana's blog (except what's a binner??? someone who eats from one???) and like a torontonian when i read the list below. the more homes, the better ( Read more... )

haha, my dying wish would be to actually know what half these sentences are referring to in t.o--

on a completely unrelated point, i have no idea what a binner is (and i think i'm from vancouver??)...i don't think i've ever even heard that word before (::blush::)

a binner is someone who collects cans and bottles.
they refer to themselves as binners, as i have seen and been witness to on ye olde bus:
"woah where the hell were you? don't speak english, eh? you don't look it either. so? where the hell you'd get that from eh?"
pause, old chinese lady stares at him quizzically still. he pokes at her bags of bottles. looks at his. continues:
"aw come on. musta been kits. i know a binner when i see one. i've been at it a while. kits right? them rich people. i know a binner when i see one."

and on for a good long while, the chinese lady still staring.
