funnel101 1. “The spell’s greatest defect, Miss Granger, lies neither in its design, nor in its intent; in fact, both of those are very nearly flawless.
“No, Miss Granger. Its greatest defect, but also its most magnificent quality, is that this is a spell that was meant for Slytherins … Gryffindors are incapable of appreciating the subtlety needed to wield it; to contain it. They press on; they rush to use it at full strength wildly, rashly … With no appreciation for the full focus and attention that such a temperamental spell requires.”
All the while, Severus’ eyes had never left hers, and the fervour in them accelerated her heartbeat just as much as his lecture, and the underlying meaning, did.
“Brilliant lecture, Severus,” drawled Lucius from his place at her feet, “but I’m sure the lesson could do with some practical application. Just to make sure you’ve driven your point across aptly enough.
”Don’t you think so, love?” he asked Hermione, though he gave her no time to even gather her thoughts, let alone answer, before he sucked the small toe of her right foot in his mouth and laved it with his tongue. The only reaction she could manage was a loud, strident moan; she was sure Severus needed no further sign of her acquiescence.
A few precise, meticulous motions of his wand later, and her periwinkle-blue camisole was sliced artfully, and quite strategically.

"Hmm? Oh, that. Well, we were invited for lunch at the mansion last week, and Draco told Lucius from the start that we may have to excuse ourselves early because we were invited back here to celebrate your marriage being officially over. He said congratulations, by the way, which I thought was very sensible of him in all."
"Right; thanks, I guess. And Snape?"
"Well, he was there too, wasn't he."
"And I suppose he said it was about time, too?"
"Nothing of the sort, Granger. He did have choice words to say about Weasley, though. Nothing fit for the delicate ears of your ladyship, you understand," Draco finished with a wink. Hermione frowned slightly even as she felt the mirth provoked by Draco's words; in truth, Draco's evident protectiveness of Snape puzzled her a bit.
"Of course, what he actually means by that is he has no hopes of remembering Severus' words verbatim. Not that I could do better, but I do remember my amusement clearly enough.

3. Severus glanced at Hermione and saw her watching them intently, her lips slightly parted, and it was his turn to smirk. But only for a moment: in the next, he felt a hand on his leg, and it became a little difficult to be smug. He realized that those long fingers did not belong to Hermione; it was Lucius’s hand stroking slowly up the long muscle on the front of his leg. He glanced at Hermione again, feeling almost guilty. Then he felt her small hand begin a similar trail up his opposite leg, and rational thought became impossible as he anticipated the moment when their two hands might meet at what seemed to be their common goal.
Instead, Hermione’s hand reached across him and met Lucius’s hand, stopping him in his quest and once again frustrating Severus’s desire.
Hermione said, “There will be time enough for that later. First, I have another indulgence planned for you, my love.”
“Yes? And what might that be?” he enquired, presuming it involved naked body parts rubbing each other into a frenzy of ecstasy.
Happy, Happy Birthday by
kittylefish 4. Hermione sat on the bed, feeling completely relaxed after her bath and the little nap they had taken after their return from the city. Severus had risen earlier and informed her that he was going to take care of things downstairs. She strongly suspected that "taking care of things" in this case meant instructing the house-elf he had probably borrowed from either Lucius or Minerva. For once, she didn't mind. She stretched her leg, admiring her new black court shoes. There was no such thing as the perfect shoes, but these came close, very close.
For a moment, she mused again who the evening's guests were before she made her way down to their living room and paused for a moment in the doorway to watch the scene before her.
Severus was comfortably sitting in one of the armchairs. Hermione allowed her eyes to linger for a moment on his familiar slim body while she thought about the plans she had for him later. Lucius sat in another armchair, his legs comfortably stretched in front of him, wearing grey evening robes that were very elegant in a subtly understated manner, his silver-blond hair falling loosely down his back. Both men were talking, but so softly that she couldn't hear what they were saying, while they sipped from the champagne in their glasses. No one else was visible. Apparently, Lucius Malfoy was their first and only guest for the evening. Taking in his chiselled features, she suddenly remembered exactly when and where she had specified her birthday wishes. A pleasant little tingle started to spread from her middle through her body as a smile spread over her face. It looked like this could be a truly memorable birthday.

dreamy-dragon73 5. “Hermione told me something interesting the other night,” he muses. My hand clenches on my thigh.
“Did you know she and I were seeing each other?”
She left Ronald for him? He is the other man?
“And then she told me about you.” His hands are not on the table anymore.
I remember, inconsequentially, that the Delacour girl left him, as his left hand rests upon my knee.
“And?” My voice is a raspy whisper. It is a side effect of the incident that I can usually control.
“And I was intrigued.”
Bloody Gryffindor.
“Would you care to join us?”

Sc010f 6. Much later in the kitchen, Hermione was attempting to make a cup of tea. In peace. Really, she had no idea how the two men could've lived together for as long as they had said. She would never have survived that long without killing one of them the way they were at each other's throats all the time. Then again, she supposed it had some advantages as well. Made you feel alive and kept you from thinking about the past. It did feel a little cultivated at times.
She sighed, measuring out two and a half teaspoons of tea into the tea-egg, thinking of the very different men sitting in the other room and what had brought them together.
Earlier, the thumping against the door had indeed been Remus, who had been as surprised by the quickly approaching storm as she had. After a few bangs which she and Snape had waited out in trepidation, their wands drawn, the door had simply been pushed open, and an almost frozen Remus had fallen to the floor in front of them. Now he was sitting with a hot bowl of soup, huddled in what was probably all of the cottages' blankets in front of the fire, along with Snape who was arguing with him about his newest research it seemed.

shalimar1981 7. She had had a lifetime of books and book vouchers from well-meaning relatives and friends over the years, and rather expected him to make a bit more of an effort.
She had expressed her appreciation for the stunningly filthy wizarding porn he’d bought her the year before, but he’d made sure that it was one of very many other presents that practically screamed Thoughtful Husband at the top of their voice.
The thing was, after five years of being thoughtful, he had been beginning to run out of ideas. And Hermione got rather cross if he resorted to Legilimency to work out what she wanted. She said that was cheating, and he would ask her what her point was, because cheating was very much the point as far as he was concerned, and then she would look disappointed in him, and that would be that.
He could face down Dark Lords, Boys Who Lived, and even Molly Weasley on the rampage with nary a flicker of fear, but when his wife looked at him with big, brown eyes, he was as putty in her hands.
Wrapped With a Bow by
shiv5468 8. In the last few days since he had become aware, he had come to certain realisations. First was that Harry Potter was not truly happy. Second was that he genuinely wanted Harry to be happy. He had died in terror, thinking only of the fact he was condemning the boy to his death, which would mean his life debt to him would never be nullified. Now that he was aware again, and able to assess the situation, he realised that, since Harry had not remained dead, then his original mission remained -- to ensure Lily's son had a better, happier life and, perhaps, repay the debt. It was the only thing he could think of that might allow him to go on to his own reward instead of hanging around Harry Potter. Literally hanging, in his case, since he was starkers, an excruciatingly humiliating fact he refused to consider or else go barmy. Other ghosts seemed to have clothes. He hoped he would never run into another ghost. He might not be able to die of shame, but he had no desire to feel it again.

9. “Wanting and needing are two very different things. I could have coped without him; I just didn’t have to. You know perfectly well that when times are bad, we take relief where we can find it. And a decent blowjob is much more fun than a quick wank.”
“It just seems alien to me,” Hermione said slowly. “To do something so intimate if it doesn’t feel strictly necessary.”
“That’s because you’ve only had sex with someone you’ve fallen madly in love with, and since then, you haven’t had to go without.”
“I can see your head swelling from here. Severus, it sounds awful, but I’m not sure whether to feel lucky or naive.”
Dark eyes inquisitive, Severus tilted his head to one side. “Does it matter?”
Hermione stared at the carpet. “Maybe. Perhaps I need to be convinced that you’re not missing out on something better.”
A Staircase by
camillo1978 10. It had been her intention to confront Severus with the way he was treating both her and Draco as soon as he returned. It had been her intention to let him know that it wasn’t going to be tolerated, that she wasn’t going to allow him to force Draco to stay here with them, and that she wanted to know whatever it was he would have told Draco about her had she not been in the room. Severus’s voiced echoed in her mind:
“First, you betray me to the Dark Lord instead of asking me what was going on. Had you asked, you would have known that-” Severus stopped short here and looked over at her. "-in any case…"
What had he been about to say? What is he not telling me?
Those had been her intentions. And when Severus Apparated into the bedroom, she had rushed up to him, letting her anger and irritation flush her cheeks. But instead of chewing him out like she (and Draco) had planned, unplanned words streamed from her lips.
“Where on earth have you been, Severus? How dare you just leave me like that, with no explanation, just leaving me to worry!”
