Duty to god is top of the mission statement and prayers are included in meetings.
Yeah... In the US it is slightly different, but God and homophobia seem to be the main values, at this time, of Boy Scouts of America, so despite dh having loved his time as a scout many many years ago, it's not in the cards for Perry.
Are there other less... umm... religiously charged organisations which might do camping type stuff for kids?
I've had a look - can't see anything. The promises and oaths that most clubs have to swear seem very catechistic/masonic. I'm also a bit uneasy about swearing oaths to the Queen in a country which increasingly trends towards republicanism.
