I don't get over here to LJ very often except to read friends' posts. I just have to let you guys who follow me know some things that I don't necessarily want to talk about over on FB

Oh, Nana, I'm sorry. This is a tough, tough situation and I know it hurts your heart. I pray for your strength as you care for your mother. You have such sturdy grace and I know your faith will help sustain you.
I took her to her place for an ice cream social this afternoon and she had a great time. She needed to be told several times on the way to town where we were going. It's not going to get better. All we can do is keep loving her and taking care of her. :)
Oh, Carol! I'm so sorry. My grandmom had alzheimers and my parents moved her and my grandfather in with them until they died. It's so scary watching someone who was so bright and always able to do whatever she wanted to do be confused and unable to take care of herself.
Can she use a walker and would that help her mobility issues any? It's wonderful that your family is close enough for you to all be there to help out.
*hugs* You know where to find us if you need to talk.
Hey you! Thanks so much! Like I said, I know I'm not the only one to go through this.
Mom does use a walker. Last Thursday am not being able to walk was because of sitting in the chair all night. She just went to bed and I asked her which of two outfits she wanted to wear tomorrow and hung the chosen one on the door handle. I have a chiropractor appt. in the early am. :(
She fell here in the living room this afternoon and I wasn't able to get her up. Fortunately, Hubs had just gotten home and was able to do it. Whew!
And yes, we're very happy to be able to take care of her. :)
Oh Im so sorry to hear this *hug* Things like this are never easy and witnessing people you love in this situation can actually very terrifying. Because they are still them ... but in a way they arent all there. Just .. so sad. I am thinking of you my friend. I love you and I am just hugging you really tightly *hugs*
Thank you, my dear friend. She keeps wanting to go home and we have arguments about it. A and I worked on her apartment today with Mom down at 'coffee'. She was to come down to her apartment when she was done visiting. We got done with what we were doing today, went to get her and found her sitting by herself.
