Speech Class OVER!

Most Feared Class of All = OVER! (Well, I've given my last presentation, I just need to be a warm body for two more sessions.)

I was so incredibly scared of speech class. I was sure I would freeze, or sound like an idiot, or babble endlessly... in retrospect, I was basically worried about embarrassing myself, which has always been one of my bigger

Congratulations! I have a friend who used to start shaking and nearly pass out if she had to make a speech at the beginning of that class. By the end of class, our instructor somehow helped her manage her nervousness so that she could at least get up there and do it, even if she still hated it. I have no idea how he did it, but he did. I'm glad you ended up doing so well!

The instructor really makes a difference. Mine was 'older than dirt' as she put it and really wanted everyone to do well. Her support made it much easier. She had theater experience, too, so she had a lot of good advice regarding physical things you can do to combat the shaking and nerves.

Congratulations! I had to make a speech once when I was at university, so I recognize the nerves before and the exhilaration afterwards.
