Hands feel okay today but they didn't feel okay yesterday. It's annoying! Always a back and forth. Not as bad as it was a few weeks ago. You know the story.
I have done other things that aren't feeling pain about my hands though, believe it or not!
Zarla bought me Omori as a "late birthday gift" so I've been playing that quite a lot! I'm only 8 hours into the game though, which is basically nothing. I was reluctant to play it for a few years because I got a lot of main story spoilers, but it's been a few years so some of them are kind of hazy and the thing is about art is that description does not do it justice. Even if you know the story or twists, it's the execution that matters. You can still enjoy a movie even if you know what the plot is because it was intentionally created to be presented in an artistic way. There's a reason why people don't just read IMDb summaries all day.
I'd share my thoughts but I feel like I would go into far too much detail about art that would be pretty boring because it's literally just the prologue and it's not the "Important stuff". Like, I talk a lot about it and look embarrassing because I "Haven't even touched the game yet, you're only 8 hours in" kind of thing.
Saying that, people are probably curious so I might as well. I'll keep it brief though, so I guess spoiler free in a way.It's best to go in blind! Unlike what I did. Didn't have that as an option
The game is incredibly well made, and I can tell every single artistic choice had a lot of thought put into it. I really like thinking about why something was drawn a specific way, why they use the specific art style they did, the kinds of brushes they used and why, because it all works really well at conveying a theme that they're going for. this is true for all parts of the game, it's not applicable to a specific zone or anything.
My favorite character so far is the main one. "WTF he doesn't talk" my taste in characters always goes this way. I always like the main protagonists. Kris is my favorite Deltarune character. I don't need to justify anything!

I've also done stuff that isn't just play video game. I've released an update for one of my ghosts! It's Dreamtale Sans. It's not really a content update, just accumulated bug fixes I've had over the past year and a half since his last update.
Dreamtale Sans was a project I worked really hard on back in 2019/2020. He was my baby and I worked very hard and learned a lot about ghost coding! He was incredibly ambitious for the skill level I was at at the time. He succeeded at his specific purpose, that being "the bit", and even generated a small fan base around him that's still going to this day. He's got a massive fanfiction series and everything. WHICH I JUST CONTRIBUTE TO SOMETIMES, I DIDN'T WRITE MOST OF IT. IT'S ENTIRELY JUST BASED OFF OF THE GHOST
The problem is that one of the skills I hadn't learned yet was how to bug test, and how important it is. If it were a cartoon it would be like I presented a robot that I made to you, and it had spring sticking out of it and screws falling from it. It's cute, but unfortunately a lot of very essential main features didn't work as intended. Things I worked incredibly hard on, just simply wouldn't work for the user. Over the years I tried multiple times to fix these, but after about the 5th attempt where I thought I finally got it it still didn't work and I lost motivation. It just made me really sad!
I was pretty reluctant to release this bug fix because the main broken thing in it still is broken, but it's better for me to patch some of the bugs instead of none of them. I'm hoping sometime this year I can fix this ghost to a point where I could legitimately call it "polished" instead of "patchwork". It's not past me's fault, I was an incredibly new coder and this was a very ambitious project, but it is rather unfortunate. I should have more confidence in it though, it wouldn't have such a big fan base for such a niche project if it wasn't any good!
That being said if you weren't aware of this thing and you're thinking of picking it up now, it is rather dark and made for a teen audience. Like, the character deal with very dark themes such as emotional and physical abuse, I wrote him basing his personality off of ventfic Wattpad writers, there's a sort of "dating sim" route because a lot of the teens in the audience for this character write "x reader" fics, etc. THIS WAS ALL DONE ON PURPOSE but like if some of that puts you off maybe skip this one!
HOWEVER AS LONG AS YOU CAN TOLERATE THE DARK THEMES I STILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE FANFIC SERIES
Sometimes I look at his old dialogue and wince a little bit because I would write it a lot better now, but I could only write it a lot better because I worked really hard on honing my skills on this project! I've learned how to make dialogue a lot more natural when it comes to ghosts since then, but I also have to keep in mind that that's a solo character ghost so it's a lot harder to make natural dialogue when he's just talking to himself. IT'S FORGIVABLE, I DON'T HATE MY OLD ART LIKE SOME ARTISTS DO I'M BETTER THAN THAT
Anyways let's look at some great dialogue from my current ghost project
Silver likes Kingdra. He thinks it's a little bit of an underrated dragon type, simply because it's harder to acquire since it's a trade instead of a normal evolution. He, however, does not like Horsea! It has to do with his grudge against the Champion lol.
Not gonna lie silver's strategy was kind of gigabrained.
Normally in competitive Pokemon, people give their Gliscor Toxic Orb which inflicts poison, but this is in the anime universe and items aren't real in the anime universe so I thought of something more creative lol
I want to clean this one up a little, I think it goes on a little too long.

Silver doesn't have a water type now but he has to for some of the backstories to make any sense, and I decided Tentacruel was the best fit. Mantyne was a close second but Tentacruel fits his vibes a lot more. I almost overlooked it because of how common they feel to me lol

This one is difficult, I kind of want to rework it to actually add in the reference about Drampa being very protective and burning down bullies houses. and some joke about how Silver doesn't like it because he is/was a bully and thinks it would attack him. but not fully a joke. yk. I'LL THINK ABOUT IT I don't stress a lot about these first drafts they'll all be redone anyways when I code them

Now it's a good time to mention that Gold isn't just like potentially secrectly gay for shipping reasons he is VERY LOUDLY AND OPENLY GAY. He is not shy about admitting this in the slightest even in situations where homophobes might be around so he is a visible member of the community. His mom is either queer or huge ally and he comes from a super small town that's very progressive so he's never felt any shame about it and actively refuses to feel any at any point. He has a rainbow pin on his bag/inside his jacket. There's a couple references to this in the ghost when it's natural to bring it up BUT I JUST FELT LIKE SAYING THAT VERY CLEARLY HERE FOR REASONS. 🏳🌈

Video game progress: I figured out Pink totally so you get a picture and also way more information about them than you did the other mages
So Liafal's soul color is pink, and the trait is "Forbearance", which is essentially restraint. Magic it gives them a lot of them to control emotions to a certain degree, in Liafal's particular case, they are an empath and can make people calmer.
("Hm I can think of another character you've written with that same exact power set" great it means I have a head start then)
The king, however, make sure that their powers stay unknown. Most people don't even know that Liafal is a mage. They are a recorder, which stays in the background during the king's meetings taking notes. The king if pressed will say their powers are "Their magic gives them a good memory", and while it is true that Liafal has a good memory and is an impressive note taker, this is not their magic.

Their main purpose is to be able to tell if someone is planning to assassinate the king, and make sure that everyone is acting in order. If someone comes in with murderous intent, Liafal can discreetly nullify them, either by subtly casting calming magic, or by making a guard take care of them.
Liafal's magic is the opposite of flashy and is incredibly difficult to notice. They only do it when necessary, as they have a limited pool of it (restraint trait). The other Mages are aware that their magic includes being able to calm others, but Red Knight doesn't take it very seriously. Liafal will use external tools for the practice such as candles and Red Knight jokes behind their back that "Well yeah, candles do tend to have a calming effect on people" and basically just thinks Liafal doesn't really have any magic and is mostly lying his way to the position, since they're a sneaky bastard.
At first, Pink's role in the game is very minor. Unlike the other Mages, when you go through the town you don't actually unlock anything from him. They're a very boring background character. They're not even suspicious, they're just one of the boring Mages that works at the castle and doesn't do anything.
However, as the runs progress, Red Knight's emotional state changes and Pink becomes more suspicious. An example would be overconfidence in a risky decision. For example, imagine there is a dark cave with two paths. It's a 50/50 for which path they should go on, but Red Knight, despite seemingly having no evidence of it, says they should go down the left instead of the right.
Red Knight knows that the right path has a trap, but only because they went there in a previous timeline. They never have in this one though, so it's strange behavior. Liafal's entire job is to note down strange behavior.
They're basically a totally irrelevant character until they start being suspicious of you in later runs.
The rest of the details are major spoilers so I won't be getting into those. Kind of funny I've only posted the description for Pink so far bc they're supposed to be the most "boring", lol.
