Paintings and Piercings

I have long since admired the artists who paint the portraits decorating the castle walls, but have only recently come to the conclusion that the shallow and superficial subjects of the portraits were probably not so in their life. I believe, judging from this post, that they portrayed human depth rather accurately.

I beg to differ. I've found that some of those paintings have, in fact, managed to capture at least a sembilance of the depth of real people as subjects. I've always had the opinion that if modern day painters showed a little atavism, then we could all benefit from their works of art.

If you had read my entry carefully, you would note that I said 'the depth of humanity in its completeness'. A semblance of depth is not completeness of depth.
