Leaving a nervous Rosie alone in a hospital is a Very Bad Idea. Because she gets ideas. Ideas like twitching up some scrubs for herself and sneaking in to see Tom.
Let's just hope nobody wonders who the new nurse is, or why she's peeking into various ORs like she's looking for something.
-"We're have an hour late!" she tells them. Browning disregards her, White emphasizs her point, and she feels like she's feeding lines into a tape recorder, tape recorded to a brick wall. But it's like this for every patient.
'Where's Rosie?' she thinks, glancing back at the waiting room and missing the flash of pink hair.-
-He wants to burn this damned hospital gown right off and run, except he knows they'd catch him and bring him back.
Instead, he'll just glare at passerbys and be ready to run, always tensed. He can hear all three doctors arguing just outside his door. He's surprised. He thinks he might have picked up a few new swear words this trip, or at least some very ingenious combinations of pre-existing ones.
He's terrified.
All he remembers is being spread-eagled because he fought less that way, being awake for it unless he passed out, feeling like he had a fever that would roast his brain from channeling all that heat through his body again and again, and the knives, the mad laughs, the horse-brush mustache, the fluorescent lights.
Sneak. Sneak. Borrow an empty clipboard and make sure she approaches from behind Lea (she's sort of figured out where she wants to be when she found the yelling knot of labcoats).
((So far on Days of our Surgeries *insert organ music* Tom is in the OR. Doctor Lea is swearing colorfully with some other doctors because someone's trying to keep her out of the OR. And Rosie has twitched up some scrubs and snuck in to hang out with Tom while the doctors are arguing.))
(Thank you! I'm having Terry arrive. It's up to Tom and Lea's players if they want to have her see Tom, otherwise she'll fret in the lobby and raise hell. )
It's an angry Theresa Cassidy that finds her way into the hospital, through the sliding glass doors, looking and looking for anyone to ask about Tom. The smell, the light, the air, all combining to spell out 'FRAILTY' and 'SICK' in burning letters in her mind's eye.
-At first glance, Lea's relieved to see Terry there. At second, seeing the look on Terry's face, suddenly the shreds of fine stability are tattered further. She makes a note to self - 'I. Hate. The OR.'
"Another person you invited in, Y?" Browning asks irritably. "You take care of it."
"I'm a fucking syke-EYE-uh-trist."
"He's your patient."
"That you're not letting me see." She spits at him, but really, she's happy Terry's there, even if the mood and the circumstances with certain OR dictators aren't the best.-
Theresa, glad you came. We're about an hour behind thanks to that whoreson back there, but once he's taken care of I'm sure you'll get to see him.
Terry's trained to assess situations quickly. Thank god, there's Lea, looking both angry and briskly efficient. The angry man in front of Lea needs to be sorted.
Theresa, this is our very understanding head of the surgical unit, Dr. Browning, who unfortunately seems to believe there would be a problem with any of us going in to see Tom before the operation commences.
-She turns to Browning.-
Brunsie, this is Ms. Theresa Rourke-Cassidy, and in my opinion letting her and Mr. Cassidy see each other prior to the surgery would be beneficial to both of them.
-She softens upon turning back to Terry.-
It's alright, just a bit of poison-laden hospital politics. Tom's fine, just more than a little nervous.

-He sees her from the door-window, stares awkwardly at her. He didn't expect her to come. He thought he'd driven her away.
He motions for her to come in, brushing a finger to his lips to warn her to be quiet.-
