Oooooooh...round-robin stories are most excellent :-D We had a round-robin reading of Anne Rice's erotica books with William Shatner's Tek books in the 4m after a meeting last year. Hilarity ensued!! :)

I've done this a bunch of times. Success depends on your fellow writers. If they feel like 'Rocks fall, everyone dies' there's no way to stop them even if you had something really great planned for your turn. If you do attempt this, I suggest a group discussion with all involved persons to set ground rules before anyone starts writing.
