I HAVE A THEORY, and that theory is that Wikipedia has killed the fan page. Now, the itch to make a site about Show X, with Show X pictures and favourite sound clips and episode summaries is too easily scratched by adding to the Wikipedia page about Show X, or even just reading the existing Show X Wikipedia node ( Read more... )

Good theory and I agree. Clearly there is much less amateur web design period because of things like MySpace and Facebook.
