It's 'definitely', internets! This is easy. To turn 'definite' into an adverb, you add '-ly'. Why does just about everyone on the internet type 'definately', or 'definatly', or even 'defiantly' (a different word entirely)? Even netizens who spell everything else right tend to get this one wrong

Amen, brother. I definitely see things like this every day at work. I attribute it to AIM, text messaging, etc. The only solution I can think of is to create a superhero called the Grammar Ranger. However, that would indeed be ridiculous.
