ah, springtime. i love it. all i want to do is sit on the porch and read/drink beer, go on long bikerides with friends, go on long walks with thrashnizzle (both usually ending on a patio at a bar), waterfront wednesdays, plant things, dig in the dirt, open all the windows, farmers market, play tennis, go hiking, camping...(and apparently fuck off ( Read more... )

Roach I TOTALLY feel your need to move forward and not look back or whatever is driving you away from Lexington but...this place rules! Honestly I love this town so much. We aren't perfect but we also aren't pretentious enough to pretend like we are ya know? It is beautiful and there is always something fun going on...and not just like hanging out with your friends fun or going to shows fun but like...parks and rec fun or community fest fun...fun for everyone even people you don't know! There is no place in the world I'd rather raise Jett. I may not have been born here but I plan to die here...after a looooong and fulfilling life.

Plus the people here are the best BEST! Just sayin! ;)

oh no no no no-i'm not saying anything bad about lexington! i'm just saying that i'm lazy and it's a huge hassle to move in general-especially out of town! and i really like it here, so i don't want to pick up and move anywhere if the reason i'm moving (dental hygiene, sign language, whatever it be) isn't really what i want to be doing. i feel that it would be pointless and a waste of time (but i guess i could count it as a learning experience!)...and besides, it doesn't really matter where i move because i probably won't have time to have a social life! haha. ugh.

how did i miss this post?! it rules! i guess i don't check livejournal as often as i thought i did...
01) i wasn't in ASL for very long, but when i was, i loved it and bought sign language poetry magnets. i took them off the fridge about a month or so ago b/c i never play with them anymore :( However, my friend Burley taught me how to sign "nigga please" last week!
02) a friend of mine was almost ran over by a car on her bike in Louisville. you're right. it's not as bike-friendly as Lexington. i can't say i blame drivers that park on the roads (due to having NO WHERE ELSE to park), but it creates a pretty sticky ride for bicyclists. shit, i get nervous driving my *car* on those roads. there are cars parked on the sides (of both lanes) and, as you said, the roads are narrow.

i don't know how you missed the longest.post.ever. but--you found it and that's all that matters! heh.

01) did you take asl in college? for how long? my friend who has an associates in interpreting has been teaching me how to cuss and stuff. it's bad, but i need to know! but i really like learning sign language-and want to become as fluent as i can...

02) louisville is definitely trying to become more bike friendly, but it seems like they're picking the oddest roads to put in bike lanes. i think they're putting 'em in for more saturday afternoon riders and not transportation riders? i dunno...i would be riding more, but the FUCKING RAIN (rain) won't go away. it's also bike to work week this week...
