So our apartment is ground level... well... basically the basement. but we have windows right? and our kitchen window is basically right above the grass line

I really want to read that book too! And my phone bill is also absurdly huge this month. :(
I don't really have any money to give you for LA, but me and Chad are getting rid of a lot of our stuff. So if you can find somewhere to have a garage sale or something, you're welcome to sell it for us and keep all the profits. Otherwise it's just going to Goodwill.
oh dude no way! you would let me sell your stuff? That's incredible. When are you guys looking to get rid of it? I'm sure my parents would let me have my own little garage sale at their house haha.
yeah, I don't know how much of it is sellable...it's mostly old books and shit but you are welcome to try to get as much as you can out of it whenever you want. It's just sitting in our 2nd bedroom all boxed up and ready to go.
hahahaha I know right? it's kind of ridiculous =p but mainly for now, I just want to get my ass out there to visit this summer. that's my main thing. After that I can consider maybe moving again haha.
I just wanna say (so that I can say I told you so later... again...), notice that when you were in LA, you favorably remembered life in Lincoln as some sort of easy ideal, and now that you're back in Lincoln, you remember life in LA as some sort of ideal. Point is, we have a habit of remembering only the good parts and not the bad parts of our memories.
I've noticed whenever people have gotten out of their hometown only one major time, they often want to get back to that one place again, often to relive their memories and try to re-experience the thrill they got. Keep in mind - getting out into the world is probably going to be thrilling no matter where you get to (provided, of course, it's some metro area). Don't set your sights on one place to try to relive the past - look for excitement and fulfillment in the future.
