you and Mary arent going to end here. dont let her parents get what they want. you need to show them just how commited you two are to each other and maintaining your relationship. if you give up now then it will only prove to them what they've thought all along. "they're just kids and dont know what they want, its not serious"
just dont give them the satisfaction they're looking for. and try not to blame mary for this, I mean I know you dont but she may feel that you do. just try to reassure her that your anger isnt pointed towards her.
