San Francisco Silent Film Festival Footage

At July's San Francisco Silent Film Festival, I recorded Leonard Maltin's introduction to King Vidor's The Patsy starring Marion Davies, and I have uploaded my videos to YouTube. I used a Kodak camera, not a video camera, so the image quality was sacrificed by zooming, but the sound came out fine. My camera only records video when I hold down the ( Read more... )

Why yes it is! I love Vertigo / Bell, Book, and Candle era Kim Novak. I found this image online, but I also have a print of her with a rose that I've never scanned.

Me too!! Bell Book and Candle is one of my favorite girlie movies. Priceless actors all throughout that one!

Have you ever heard the Harvey Danger song, "Carlotta Valdez"? It's such a kick ass all-out rock song about Vertigo!

I have not heard that song! I will have to look for it now.

I haven't bought the Vertigo on DVD because I've been waiting for the remastered print version. I bumped into a man saying it would be out in the next year.

When I was a little girl, I wanted to be Gillian Holroyd--except for the part where she lost her powers and ended up in pastels. I even applied to Wellesley years later, but I was waitlisted. That film remains on fashion influence on me.
