well, I put the 3 females each in their own box for egg laying about a week ago. One finished yesterday. How do I know she finished? Because she died. They die when they are done. I didn't think to post this yesterday. On Monday Joe picked me up from work as usual but this time I had him take me to the ER. I broke my f-ing rib cage. I broke it both in the front and in the back but only at the hard cartilage. I cracked the front last week trying to crack my back in a very bad way. Last night around 9:30 another female hatched. Very odd because they usually come out of their cocoons in peak daylight hours. 10-2. It was about 83 degrees last night at 9:30 so I guess she thought it was ok to come out. lol. So that leaves one cocoon left to hatch. I'm guessing it will be today. Another female hatched today. :)

This morning as I'm trying to wake him up he starts talking in his sleep. He said "I'm flying over Patrick's ice cream goofy goofer".

As I already posted...the first of the cocoons eclosed (hatched)on Saturday afternoon. I was away all day Sunday and when I got home in the evening there was 2 more. So far we've got 2 males and a female. :) No mating activity last night though. :| There's only a window of a few days so I'm hoping they'll get to it. Moth-Cam should be up shortly. ( Read more... )
