Ohhh. Oh man this was really strong. I liked a lot what you did with it. I really felt for Mark, felt for Nino. The vivid description and his flashbacks are unsettlingly good, too. I think fandom has found its elusive good tactician fic.

Agreeing with shotglass up there, this is a damn good tactician fic. Hell, you gave him SPECIAL POWERS that didn't make him seem like a sparklesue and just. mmf. It was lovely. Gut-wrenching and lovely all at once.

Hope you don't mind if I just leave a generalized comment here and the more "legit" feedback when this gets to FFn--I'm super tired right now.

Anyhoo, I was really excited for this, and you didn't disappoint. I loved how in-depth this was, with Mark's backstory and his interactions with the characters and everything. And even though he had a bunch of typical Stu traits--noble lineage, awsum powahz, and the like, he wasn't Sparkle Stu version 42862. Great work with that.

(Oh, and really clever way of utilizing the "restar" feature of the game into a very believable plot device--very Butterfly Effect-esque sort of situation. Me likey.

...And now I can't stop picturing Ashton Kutcher in FE-land. (Though unfff. Ok I'm done now.)

I've mentioned it before, but I really thought this was an affecting portrait of a kid with way too much to handle. I come out of this with a really strong impression of Mark and his legacy. The result was definitely worth the work :D
