I recall seeing a scimitar in the CAS/Hanwei catalog a while back, and then googled it. Found it here only to remember just HOW curved that blade really is. Could poke your OWN eye out with that thing ( ... )

Yeah, it is. And it's slowly growing on me, too. But before I make a decision on it, I think I'll do as you suggest and get a crapton of catalogs and see what's available. If nothing jumps out at me and says, "YOU WANT ME!" then I'll probably go with the katana.

Though, the Armory you linked to does have this, which is more along the lines of what floats my boat, though the lack of scabbard is a problem.

Heh, at least you can hold it in a threatening position! There's no way I'd even be able to lift a claymore or flamberge in any pose except "MY ARM IS FALLING OFF!"
