When I got home tonight, there was a letter from Chicago Cultural Affairs lovingly placed on the kitchen table by my man. It was regarding the CAAP grant request I put in last winter. When I opened it, it had "Congratulations!" at the top. I got my grant, a grant I submitted to attend the Walloon Lake Writers' Retreat this September. They funded

Adam Faucett, my friend and collaborator, is playing a show this Thursday night at Phyllis' Musical Inn in Wicker Park. He is an amazing singer/songwriter. I am singing with him, hopefully from now until forever, or at least for a really long time. This is a new collaboration, and we're both really excited about it. It will be our first "real" show
