It is absolutely gorgeous out today - azure skies, a crisp breeze. If it has to be winter at all, I'd prefer it to look just like this. Always :). No more of those piercing, wet, frigid days like yesterday. Good grief, it was one of those days I'd just prefer to curl up in bed and read all day... going outside's just too much of an effort. Sounds like ya'll had a beautiful day. It is quite frigid here. What specific books are on your list to read, and what have you been reading lately? I love books too, and libraries (even though I've practically been living in one lately). It is fun just to go browse the shelves and find treasures that you might not have heard of before. I wish I had more time to read "for fun". There are so many books I want to read - novels, classics, non-fiction, etc. - that I might not get around to for a while because of all the necessary reading for graduate school. I do, for the most part, find the stuff I read for school pretty interesting, since it is my specialty within geography. But, it still feels different when you choose to read something totally of your own will, and not trying to meet some qualification. I have a stack of books that I want to read on my nightstand that I try to get around to nightly before falling asleep (I can't really do school reading when I'm about to go to bed). The list is really varied, mainly 20th century works that are (hopefully, accurately) acclaimed. I'm reading something now, "Herself Surprised," which is a part of some literary "experiment" wherein a trilogy is written, with very different protagonists and POVs... and each can be a stand-alone. However, reading all of them gives a fuller, deeper dimension to understanding the bigger picture. I'm just now beginning the first ( ... )
