Ok, I'm on a rampage!  My son's EBT card hs been discontinued.   The EBT card is a debit food credit card.  Somehow when he applied for SSI, he was sent this card.  It is like Food Stamps, except Chase/Morgan funds it, I guess.  I logged on to his acct. to see how much $ he has on it.  It said his acct. was closed!!!!!!  Wait until he hears this.  ( Read more... )

I sure do! I think I am going to find a job in that area, whether it be volunteer or for money. Thank goodness a bill has been passed that Insurance Co. have totreat mental illness like any other disease. That will help some. I hope. I still keep laughing about the woman that screamed in my face yesterday, "Get away from me!" LOL! Yikes!

that lady reminds me of the time i was at the drugstore, and saw an item i wanted on the shelf behind an elderly woman, who was sitting on a bench. i said cheerfully, "oh, THERE it is..." and started to reach for it. she jumped up yelling, "NO ONE EVER LEAVES ME ALONE! A WOMAN CAN'T JUST SIT BY HERSELF! EVERYBODY HAS TO PUT THEIR NOSE IN MY BUSINESS!" and stormed off. :-0

i used to be the ... er... i can't remember the word now, but something like what you are for your son, for my friend carole who was disabled, and i had to go through all that crap and filling out a million forms all the time. the people who work for medicaid and ssi are just the most unfriendly, unhelpful, hostile people in the world. and i've always wondered how the disabled and mentally ill can ever get through the process without an advocate. i've thought of becoming some kind of person that helps them with the forms, but think i'd be driven crazy myself by the stupidity of the system.

I thought all the nasty people were in Fl. at the Social Security office. It must be a hell of a job in all states. It IS probably tiring after while working with a lot of complaining people that need benefits.
