What a morning....

I don't really have the energy to write about this in full, so I'll do so tomorrow.

The long and the short of it is my dog (an Akita) almost died this morning. He was suffering from 'bloat' and we rushed him to the emergency vet a few minutes to 6am. His chances were not good. Only 20% of surviving (and that's if the surgery didn't kill him

I'm very sorry. The cat I grew up with died in the fall. Of course, what happens is between you and your family, but I would tell you that you may find some peace or strength in knowing when to let go. I know I did. If you feel that his suffering would outweigh whatever happy life he would have ahead of him, then maybe it's time to examine that. Good luck to your family and I wish your dog the best.

Crap.......

He was doing amazingly well until sometime this morning. When they removed the IV, he got a fever and his stomach filled with some gas.

He's not looking too goo according to my mom who went to see him today...... and we were supposed to be bringing him home today........

I HOPE he'll be able to make another recovery...... but I don't know at this point........

Still, I have to have hope, without it there's nothing.
