My E drive is nuts...

My E drive (the slave drive I've set from one of the two HD's of my old computer) has been randomly telling me it's not formatted (while I can still see the file exist with a recovery program). Thankfully I backed up everything to DVD when it felt it was in a "I'm formatted" mood ( Read more... )

Well, it's one of two things. It's either the hardware is failing, or the file structure is broked. As it's FAT32, that wouldn't surprise me. If you have everything backed up, I would reformat that drive to NTFS, restore your files, and see how it fares.

Alright, well the other night I figured I'd try reformatting it, however it only listed 1.96GB as the space (the rest taken up by the files...)... but shouldn't it list it as 20 something GB's?

Guess it's really broken....

Exact some thing happened to Shawn's computer and I think he fixed it without getting anything new... I'll ask him. (Keep in mind, he's a computer expert.) ;) So the answer will probably be long and complicated, lol!
