Yay! A fresh breath of life into this community. Good to see you're doing well. Best of luck with grad school. What are you studying?

My entire school was tuned in to the inauguration ceremonies today. Even the campus pub (which was packed) and we're in CANADA! That just goes to show how momentous this event really is. Let's just hope Obama can restore some wisdom and hope to the nation...and who knows, maybe the world...

I'm going for a Masters in business (theoretically) starting this fall... *whew* I'll have to get some major motivation, school is way different than sitting around being awesome at a job every day... I always feel there is more pressure in a degree program :-/

Really you guys had the broadcast on, too? What did you think about it? Some of my friends in Canada had said the same thing, it's crazy to think how many more people have paid attention to this entire election than ever before, and the inauguration actually practically shut the internets down today!

I couldn't agree more. I'm doing an excelerated 1 year master's degree and the panic is on. Plus I haven't really thought about what comes next :P

Yesterday was very surreal. Some students in the hordes of people were crying (I think many of the people there were Americans). Everywhere I went, people had their t.v.s computers and radios set to the coverage. I, personally, found his speech to be inspirational. He is a very articulate man. God, it's refreshing :P What is strange though is our parents can say that they experienced pivotal and uniting moments in history: The end of the Vietnam War, the lunar landing, the fall of the Berlin Wall (i was probably eating crayons back then). The only news-intensive moments our generation experienced were moments of death and desperation, 9/11, the Afghanistan/Iraq wars, the death of Princess Diana...that is, until yesterday. Finally, some damn good news!!!
