I wouldn't. I'd always rather keep the friend than ruin the friendship, but, people say I'm weird. ;)

On the chance that it could fix a lot of things and be a very happy outcome, go for it. Any strong relationship should not have a taboo subject, and leaving it unsaid will make future things unsayable, and lead to a rift between you. Trust me on that. If they find out you have been holding back some serious info or feelings, they may also feel betrayed that you didn't trust them enough to handle it and make their own decision, I know I would.
