((ooc: oh my god this got so TL;DR what the heck))
[Anybody in or around 339 Brady Lane might be suddenly startled by Raz screaming frantically. He's shot up in bed, flailing as if trying to bat away dozens of invisible arms trying to grab him. When he realizes he's only waving at air he slows to a stop and tries to catch his breath, and he then notices that his throat and lungs aren't burning, and the air is fresh and clean. In fact, he's clean- there's no sign of any chemical burns on his skin, all the dirt and grime he was caked with is gone, and he's in a fresh pair of pajamas, lying in the bed in his room at his assigned house in... Mayfield.
By all appearances, he's just woken up from a very bad dream.]
I'm back. I'm back.
[It takes a few minutes for that to settle in. He doesn't remember the last couple of hours very clearly, just a lot of blurred color, pain, and fear. He does remember when it all faded away, very suddenly, into nothing.
Is that what dying felt like?
It certainly wasn't what losing a layer of his astral projection felt like. That was a jolt, a sharp push or pull as he was yanked out of a mind. But he had never lost feeling before. He had never felt nothing before. He had always thought it would be like going to sleep, but when you fell asleep, you could still feel the bed you were sleeping in, and the weight of your body, and your heartbeat. This was just... nothing.
He wasn't sure how to comprehend that.
Instead, he threw off the covers and went to the wardrobe. Sure enough, his regular outfit was in there, also clean and free of any rips or tears he had picked up. Even his goggles were looped around the sweater's neck. As he got dressed he tried to recall Westport. He remembered how it got worse as the days wore on, the creepy guys in the hazmat suits, seeing those symbols all over the church and the scratch marks on the school desks, and searching high and low for any signs of Lili or the other kids with Milla...
Oh crap. Milla. Where was Milla? She was there when Raz... she was there right at the end, but what happened after that? How could he have just left her there in that awful place? Without a second thought he raced out of his room to the nearest phone.]
[Call to EVERYONE EVER]
I'm looking for Milla Vodello. Has anyone seen her? If you have, tell her that Raz is looking for her, and that I'm okay!
[Well, no, he wasn't okay, but he would worry about that later. He would also put off any thought that Milla being in Mayfield meant she had to have died there, too. And if she wasn't back yet...]
