And then I see the scans of the magazine article. Just what the world needs, another fucking f/tps, ooo, but no, I forgot, it has some sort of bullet time/pause gunk as either a bone thrown, or a slap in the face to people who actually wanted Fallout 3 to be anything similar to Fallouts 1&2. Actually, they HAVEN'T traditionally sucked at it. In Morrowind, you had to make choices. They didnt' do it as much as they could have, but some quests closed off other factions and quests for you.

And there was more than one path, warded by unkillable NPCs, through the main quest. In fact, there were no unkillable NPCs.

Actually the traditionally, was aimed more towards dialogue, but it was late and I was ranty so quests, which I'm basing mainly off Oblivion's checklist quests, which don't even give you a single option in places where it would make sense. No option to talk to the necromancer back behind the inn, you just wade in there and kill everything in the cave, no option when sent to get the ring back from the female bandit ring to actually join them if you are female, even if only to join so you can sneak in and get the ring back without having to kill 3 people over thefts. I won't say that is what Bethesda has traditionally done with quests, but it is where they seem to be heading ( ... )
