The theme of the day was Pool, and the day was named 'The First Annual Neil's Birthday Pool Tournament'.
A day of pool, 6 matches each, the player with the most wins is presented with the Carling Cup by the loser and in return, gets to make the loser a dirty pint.
We started at the George for lunch (cheesy chip baguettes all around) and the first few games of pool.
Neil kicking Mike's ass.
Emma royally kicking mine in the most modest of ways.
We did have a lecture in the mid afternoon, so afterwards we moved the tournament to The Union.
Neil enjoying what seems to be his unbeatable streak.
Rachel just looking a bit lovely.
Finnaly we moved onto the Tut n Shive, a great pub with a set of pool tables and juke boxes upstairs, and we pretty much had the place to ourselves!
Let the pool commence!
Rahcle is first up, and proves that after the accident her steady hand isn't ready to give up on her yet.
A nice pic of Mike and Rach methinks.
Ok...so we paused the tournament for a bit of silliness at this point. And may I point out that linzie has the best 'What the golly gosh is going on?' face?
More of the silliness, we like the silliness.
More birthday lovin.
Neil and Linzie...brother and sister? We may never know...
Aw Bless...
I think he's having a good day...
Emma's gammy arm had been in the air all day, someone needed to do something.
Ah, and the winner of the First Annual Neil's Birthday Tournament and the Carling Cup is Neil! And the loser is me...having lost all 6 games.
Well done old chap...
It's the birthday boy!
The journey home consisted of grabbing the take away of choice (chinese, indian, subway) and Paul, apparantly...
Paul, Mike and I won a karaoke machine at a pub quiz last week...
...and sorely regretted letting Neil play with it...
Rachel too...
The happy couple, and the end to a great day.
Do we do great birthday's or what?
That said...we were all in bed by midnight.
